Some folks insist that real love is strictly a matter of the heart. Unfortunately, our passions are remarkably fickle and unreliable. So is love that knows only the heart.

Some folks insist that real love is strictly a matter of the head. It's all about promises made and kept, commitment and all that. That's all well and good, and certainly necessary if you want your love to last past the first disillusionment, but a relationship, especially a marriage, that relies only on the head is soon to become cold drudgery.

Real love, love that can stand up to real life and last through the years, isn't about heart or head; it's about heart and head together, keeping each other fresh and free, warm and true.

Corky and I went out to the Reunion Inn for dinner this even. It was lovely.

A blessed Saint Valentine's Day to you all.
