Today's writing prompt is, appropriately, 'Open'.

The polls are open and I voted. I was moving stiffly, sorely, and very, very slowly. My dear wife drove me there, since I am in no shape to drive right now, but I would have voted in this one even if I had had to crawl.

I removed the Love Trumps Hate pin from my jacket since it could easily be construed as electioneering at the polls. Ironically, it is a message to Democrats every bit as much as to Republicans. Jesus says we are to love our enemies and pray for the ones who abuse us. (From a safe distance I hasten to add.)

Love your enemies, lest you become like them.
