Today's sunlight came through a cold, grey filter, with a bit of snow thrown in for good measure. It is rumored that we may get to see some sun peeking through tomorrow as the temperatures slide down into the weekend.
We human beings, like the flowers and green shoots, naturally turn to the sunlight. It warm our hearts as it warms our skin. We miss it when it's not around and begrudge the clouds that hide it. I like the rain; I love the way the fog blankets the world and calms its noise, but I prefer not to have too many days of either in a row.
The heavens declare the glory of God;
the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
night after night they reveal knowledge.
They have no speech, they use no words;
no sound is heard from them.
Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
their words to the ends of the world.
In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.
It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,
like a champion rejoicing to run his course.
It rises at one end of the heavens
and makes its circuit to the other;
nothing is deprived of its warmth. Psalm 19 NIV

One of the thing I like about my no-electronics film cameras is that I can point them at the sun without worrying about ruining the camera. So have some September sun on this first day of Spring, compliments of the Holga Pinhole Camera, a most excellent little beast.
