With a whisper and a wince Wednesday made its way. The wince came first as I woke up early with a pain in the groin that hadn't been there yesterday. Seems that with the dressing no long giving support, the assorted surgical bruises and inflammations are making their presence known. Then, too, I may have been a bit over-exuberant in the wing flapping yesterday. In any case, the nurse practitioner who checked me over at today's post-op checkup did not seem overly concerned at all the pretty colors I was sporting in the nether regions. More ice. Yes. Thank you.
(I did get to drive my new 2001 BMW 325i over to the appointment and back, stick shift and all, so I can't complain too awfully much. But I had hoped I would be off to work tomorrow and raring to go. I expect I'll make to work, but I'm not promising much in the raring to go department.)
The whisper came later. Do you remember how wonderful everything was yesterday as you were feeling fine and testing your wings in the warm air? I'm still here, and always will be.
Some days it's only as you look down that you see the sun.
