It took me the longest time to think of myself as a photographer.  Photographers were people with studios where other people came to have their portraits done.  Photographers were people who went places to take photographs.

Me?  I went places that I would have gone anyway and took the camera along.  Sometimes I took pictures.  Sometimes I just went.

For example, I take walks after lunch.  I take the camera along to make sure I keep my eyes open.  One day last week I had just loaded the Yashica-D with a fresh roll of Kodak TMax 400.  The lamp post insisted I take a picture of it.

A couple days later I was finishing my walk and had one shot left on the roll as I walked up to the door.  This tree has been bugging me for a long time, so this day I gave in and took its picture.

I developed the roll yesterday morning and scanned it later in the day.  The first and last shots on the roll were the first to get worked up and posted.

I guess that makes me a photographer.

Blessings,
Steve
